Saudi Arabia has launched the world's first autonomous flying taxi, the EH216S model, marking a significant milestone in transportation innovation.
This cutting-edge technology is expected to address existing traffic issues, provide transportation during the Hajj pilgrimage, and assist in emergency response and logistics.
Part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, this flying taxi aims to build a sustainable transportation system and integrate advanced technologies.

Saudi Arabia has introduced the EH216S, an autonomous flying taxi, marking the first time a self-driving air taxi has been approved by a civil aviation authority. It recently carried a passenger on its inaugural flight in Abu Dhabi.

This flying taxi, part of Saudi Vision 2030, aims to revolutionize transportation, especially during the Hajj pilgrimage, and will also support emergency services and logistics. The technology aligns with Saudi Arabia's eco-friendly goals and transportation advancements.

Saudi Arabia’s Transport and General Authority initiated trials in holy sites. The aircraft was developed through an 18-month partnership with German company Volocopter, and further tests were conducted in Neom, Saudi Arabia's ambitious smart city project.
4. Technological Features (02:57–03:30):
The EH216S is a two-seater electric vehicle that takes off and lands vertically, with pre-programmed routes to ensure safe, efficient flights. Advanced safety features include a high redundancy design and smart management systems.

The Chinese company EHang, the EH216S’s creator, has been pioneering autonomous air vehicles globally and recently received commercial flight approval in China. EHang's models serve various purposes, from passenger transport to firefighting and logistics, signaling a potential future in urban air mobility.
